Techniques for recovery of Diadema antillarum
 Taught at the Mote Marine Tropical Research Laboratory, this course guides students through the complexities of managing the principles of ecological succession as a means of achieving ecological restoration.  Field exercises in data collection and seral stage determination are related to successional forcing functions.

Recovery of dehydrated wetlands
 Classroom discussions probe how managers can influence forcing functions to produce the desired restoration.  Of particular value is a session on ecological "myth busting" during which popular dogma and mantra are exposed as generalizations or even misconceptions which, if acted upon, can often be ecologically damaging.
